A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN (extract from Weymouth programme 22.1.12)
I am very happy to report that all funding for the Cheltenham Road roundabout works has now been paid over to the Highways Agency and that we now have a confirmed start date of 27th February. Completion of the new access road is then expected by the end of May/early June.
We plan to have a Grand Opening gala day sometime in July and for those of you that were there last time I think you would all agree what a great day was had by all at Evesham High School with the Manchester United Legends. We hope to make this next gala an even better day and anyone with good ideas for the day and evening please contact me or one of the committee.
Let’s hope this year will be the start of some very exciting times to come. With our facilities we can accommodate over 30 junior teams, 6 Sunday morning senior teams, an under 18 youth team, ladies teams, and our senior first team. We have 6 changing rooms, ten full size pitches and a floodlit training area, ample car parking and a superb clubhouse.
HARRIERS GAME ARRANGED
The Worcestershire Senior Cup Semi-Final at Kidderminster Harriers has been fixed for Wednesday 15th February, kick off 7.30pm (extra-time and penalties if needed)

PRESS STATEMENT
"GOOD NEWS FOR LOCAL SPORT AS EVESHAM UNITED IS BACK ON COURSE"
We are pleased to announce that the club’s new facility project is back on course, following a constructive dialogue between local MP, Peter Luff, the Football Foundation (one of the project’s major funders), Wychavon District Council, Evesham United Football Club and the Highways Agency.
We look forward to progressing the final stages of this development that will be a significant boost to local sports provision, both for Evesham United and the wider community, once it is open.
Evesham United FC Chairman, Jim Cockerton, welcomed the progress, saying: “Since planning permission was approved in 2002 we have had a long and difficult journey. All works on the clubhouse and ground were completed earlier this year and with construction of the long awaited access road now due to start early in the New Year, occupancy is expected by May 2012. At that time we will then be in a position to invite boys and girls aged 6 years and upwards to join the club and take advantage of the excellent facilities. I would like to offer my thanks, and those of the committee, to the above mentioned for their efforts in securing the future of the football club. I feel that the club is about to enter a very exciting period and look forward to meeting up with old and new supporters next season.”
PAUL WEST RESIGNS AS MANAGER
Paul has stepped down from his post as manager with immediate effect. After playing in the Football League and the Conference, injury forced his retirement. He then played over 200 games for Evesham before moving into management. Paul took over from Dave Busst and was appointed on a permanent basis in March 2006. Season 2008-9 was one to remember when he guided the Club to its highest ever league position in its history finishing 9th in the Southern Premier League, winning the Worcestershire Senior Cup for the second time in three years, and most memorably got Evesham to the First Round Proper of the FA Cup for the first time. Evesham United Football Club wishes Paul all the very best for the future and thanks him for his great service to the club over 15 years. He was a great ambassador overseeing the most successful period in the club's history.
REARRANGED LEAGUE GAME
United's Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture at Hemel Hempstead Town next Tuesday has been postponed. Hemel are on Red Insure Cup duty at Hitchin Town the previous evening. The game has now been fixed for Tuesday 13th December, kick off 7.45pm.
