Walking Football is calling you!
Do you want to get fit again?
Do you want to play football again, or even for the first time, at a more gentle, less fierce and slower pace?
Do you wish to make new friends and join the fastest-growing sport in the UK?
If YES, then walking football is for you, and it is here at Evesham Utd.
We run two training sessions a week, and you can even progress to our League team, which plays once a month, if your ambition and talent allow it.
Training sessions are held every Monday from 1-2 pm and every Thursday evening from 8:30 to 9:30 pm. You can choose which ones to attend.
We currently have players aged 50 and over at our sessions. The oldest are in their eighties, and the average age is in the early to mid-sixties. The cost to attend is £3 for the Monday sessions and £4 for the Thursday sessions.
We currently have men only in our teams, but we are looking to encourage women over 40 to think about playing walking football as well, either in the men’s teams or an all-women’s team.
- Walking football helps build strength and endurance. The low-impact nature of the sport means that it’s suitable for people with osteoarthritis and joint problems. It’s also perfect for those with heart conditions who want an active lifestyle.
- It can also help you stay mobile as you get older: studies show that playing walking football can help prevent falls in older adults. It does this by improving balance, coordination and muscle strength.
- It is also great FUN.
So if this interests you, man or woman, and you want to enjoy all the benefits of playing walking football, keeping fit, making new friends and reliving your youth, please contact Roger Lewis, Evesham Utd Walking Robins, on 07765 616889 or contact Evesham Utd Club Secretary on 01386 442303.
You will be made most welcome.
